Can a pair of scissors, a tube top and grammas sewing machine turn the "girl next door" into an inventor?

I didn't realize it then, but it did! My name is Ambrea, and this is my Chieki story...  Frustrated with the trendy low-rise fashions (they did the opposite of rise!), I began cutting the straps off and inverting my tanks to wear over my hips.  It was a simple process: When I pulled my jeans up over my tank-covered hips, I could fold the excess over to hug my "low risers" right in place.  Imperfect as it was, it worked.

The side effect: Smooth hips, tamed tummy, and pants that stopped slipping. Oh, and no more plumber syndrome (sorry Joe!).

And so, the Chieki tube was realized! But that's just a tidbit of the story...

After a few months of chieki bliss, a spark was ignited within me . While watching a special on TV featuring patents, and pleading with the kids to quiet down, I realized that I actually had a patentable idea! I will never forget the feelings of realization. I laughed out loud, ran to my room and grabbed MY INVENTION. Right away, I called my hubby: "great sweetie" he said, "sounds expensive!" … But we all know how to get our way, don't we, girls!

I knew that this little tube was what other women just like me needed, but couldn't find! From that day on, I have been determined to share this powerful solution with women everywhere!

And so, the research began! Knowing that I would have to write the patent myself, I spent months creating a draft. As the patent writing continued on, my chieki idea was blossoming into a full line of products (don't worry, they're coming soon). Finally after two and a half years of tweaking and perfecting, the patent was complete and submitted to the US patent and trademark office.

With a pending patent in hand, I scoured the internet for information on how to have my garment produced IN THE US.  During this time, I made some of the most nerve-racking phone calls of my life, traveled to meet some very encouraging industry professionals, and continued on the trail of referrals hoping for the ONE phone call…and then it came!

The many months in production have flown by and the test groups have spoken… the CHIEKi tube is finally here!

To squeeze it all in (no pun intended): There are plenty of products on the market to help you look good, but try and find one that actually feels good too!
